Yamaha P‑145 88‑Key Digital Piano
The Yamaha P‑145 is the entry-level model in Yamaha’s P Series, designed for beginners seeking a portable yet authentic piano experience (GHC = Graded Hammer Compact 88‑key weighted action) that mirrors acoustic feel despite its slim and lightweight chassis (approx. 11.1 kg, more compact than its predecessor). It reproduces the rich, resonant tones of Yamaha’s acclaimed CFIIIS concert grand piano, enhanced by Damper Resonance, and includes essential features like 10 voices, 4 reverb types, Sound Boost, Dual and Duo modes, a built-in metronome, and USB-to-HOST connectivity for seamless integration with apps like Smart Pianist Adorama. With its modern minimalistic design, intuitive button layout, and realistic playing feel in a compact footprint, the P-145 is perfect for beginners, home use, or players with limited space.
Compactness
Yamaha P-145 is designed with compactness and portability in mind perfect for players who need a space-saving digital piano without compromising on realistic key feel and performance features.
Acoustic feel
The Yamaha P‑145 delivers what many would describe as a clean and authentic piano tone, sampled directly from Yamaha’s distinguished CFIIIS concert grand piano, known for its bright yet rich resonance and spacious treble response.
Smart Pianist App
The Smart Pianist app by Yamaha is a companion app for compatible Yamaha digital pianos like the P-145, offering powerful tools for voice control, learning, recording, and performance customization. It’s designed to make digital piano playing more intuitive, educational, and fun—especially for beginners and intermediate players.
88 Keys & Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) Action The P‑145 features Yamaha’s new Graded Hammer Compact (GHC) action, a slimmer and more compact version of the earlier GHS action but aiming to replicate the weighted, acoustic-piano feel across all 88 keys. The 88 keys are fully weighted: heavier in the lower register and progressively lighter in the higher register, supporting expressive dynamic control (soft-to-loud playing).Yamaha emphasizes the “realistic playing feel” of the GHC action, providing piano-like comfort despite its compact design.
Sound Boost function for bringing out the sound of the piano
Have you ever been in a session with a band and felt that your sound was being overpowered by the other instruments and getting drowned out in the mix? Worry no more the P-145 is equipped with a Sound Boost function that switches to a punchy and powerful sound for such situations.
Sound of a full Grand Piano
This model features the Yamaha CFIIIS full concert grand the predecessor of the legendary CFX with a bright, transparent tone, spacious treble, and rich, solid resonance. Enhanced by damper resonance, it delivers the immersive, expressive depth of a real grand piano tuning-free, yet deeply authentic.
